I have to mention this, I get on another forum, but it's a weight loss forum.

I was looking at a thread someone started on the "Faith Based" section when someone posted about suicide.  This person has a friend who is comtemplating it and the poster asked if someone could go to hell for commiting suicide.  Some answered that God wouldn't because this person is suffering and God is a forgiving God. . .you know same ol' answers.

But me, I said scriptually, there is only one way someone would go to hell, and that is for not believing in the DBR of our Lord, and that nothing else would send a person there except for unbelief.
I said I would post scriptures of anyone wanted to know.

Well, no one posted after that and it's been about a week already, until today.  This same person said the same thing, that God would not send a person to hell for that, because they were suffering.

I know I asked you that question before Christine, so I wouldn't have any problems if they got upset at what I said.  I have scriptures to back it up.  But it's just so interesting that people think.

God doesn't send people to hell, they send themselves for not believing.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this.

I'm glad you did, Diana, because this is just but one glaring example of the ignorance being shown by persons who consider themselves to BE Christians, but who don't have a clue about the Scriptures or what is taught there.

We are NOT sent to hell for anything related to our performance. Anyone who thinks that hell is for those who don't BEHAVE in a prescribed manner is only showing their gross IGNORANCE of what the Bible teaches.

Only those who have NOT BELIEVED AND TRUSTED  in Gods ONLY solution to the sin problem for mankind (which is the finished work of Christ on the Cross which paid for our sin debt) will find themselves in hell. Jesus Himself said that the worlds sin is UNBELIEF.

If someone trusted Christs finished work on the Cross and committed suicide, they would still go to heaven but ONLY BECAUSE they met Gods criteria for entering, which is having Christs righteousness on your test paper by GRACE thru faith in what He accomplished on the Cross.

If they commit suicide and have not yet trusted in Christs DBR, they would end up in hell...NOT for committing suicide but for not having trusted in Gods solution to their situation.

Does that make sense?

I have to post this sad comment someone made in that suidcide thread.

"I'm an SOS. And an atheist. I believe in reincarnation.

IMO, the Bible was written by Man, for Man. Period.

So no, I do not believe that anyone goes to Hell or to Heaven.

We all make our own Heaven and Hell right here on Earth.

And when we die, the atoms (energy & matter) comprising our bodies is absorbed by the Universe and re-formed into a new being.
Does that sound like Hell? Sounds like an Adventure to me!"

Sadly this person is one of many being misled by the enemy.  So I posted a response back.  Here it is.

I pray that she puts her trust in God because doing things "our" way only leads to destruction in the end and eternity is not going to be good. Even though we go through things here on earth, we have the comfort and security where we spend our eternity when we put our faith and trust on Christ.

There is a God, and the evidence of Him is all around us. God loves your friend even though she is going through this, (of course with good there has to be evil, and the enemy here is satan). Just the very fact that she can wake up every morning because He gives her breathe to breath is evidence of His presence.

When she realizes that she doesn't have to do anything for salvation except believe in the redemptive work of the cross, that takes the pressure of us to "try" and be "good". We don't clean ourselves before we take a shower, same thing applies for salvation. We don't have to do anything. Only believe.

God Bless your friend! Prayers for her!!

It's amazing how bold people can be to share their athiestic views with no shame!  So I thought I'm going to share the truth!!  This lady who posted will realize that one day, every knee shall bow, and every mouth will confess that Jesus is Lord!!

Hugs!!

I'm glad that Muffy will be fine!  I was hoping she would be!! Wink

She has not posted back to me or anyone since Tuesday.  She is in a lot of pain and is not feeling well at all.  Bless her heart, when she was online sharing with us her situation, she was typing with gloves on because the pain in her hands and fingers are not letting her do normal things.  She say's that to touch anything feels like pins and needles.  She had a lot of typos and I just wanted to cry for her.

Everyone on there are believing for her healing and oh my gosh, it's just sad that they are building this up.  I keep posting that God's grace is sufficient enough for her as she goes through this and that as long as she believes and is saved that's what matters, and that God will be glorified through this and that's what matters.  But no one gets it!

I don't know what it's like to be in that situation, but I do know that to know where we spend eternity is such a comfort to me.  I also posted that.

I'll let you know if she does post and how she's doing.

Thank you for praying for her!!

Love ya Lots!!

It's been a very lousy winter here, snowing every other day, but I think I'm getting too old to have cabin fever; I'm content to just sit and read...... lol

LU...that was good.  Yes, I love to sit by the fire and watch iit snow...and the moose walk by.  To nap a little, to dream...to meditate on the word of God.   Smiley  So, after a half hour...I need to move a bit!  Tongue  But it is below 15 degrees, and that is just too cold for me and my two miniture Schnauzers to go for our walk!  I love to walk and praise God, praying and singing songs.   Grin

Christine...lot's of good subjects to discuss going on here!  Lot's of good things to help with the agiing process, too.  Cool

How are your babies?   Grin
