Hi,
I just came across a thread on this other forum I suscribe too.  Here's the post.

"If you believe that Jesus is coming back again, I have a question. Do you think with everything going on lately, that we might be slowly headed for the end times?

I started thinking about it more with the worldwide food shortages....... I was at Smart and Final last night and they had a sign saying you could only buy 3 bags of rice. Who would have thought in this day and age we would be restricted to the amount of food we buy.

Sometimes I just think something bigger is going on. So much has changed just recently.

PS...for those that do not believe in Jesus, please do not come in here and bash my thread. Thank you"

When I started looking at this ready to answer, I realized that Paul didn't mention anything about "end times" to the Church.  It seemed that it was only mentioned to the Jews.  At least I can't find anything in Pauls letters to indicate that he did mention using those words.

If I'm wrong on this let me know.

Diana

You are exactly right, Diana. Paul didn't mention the end times as the LAST DAYS and those prophecies relating to it all have to do with Israel. We are in the last days of the CHURCH age in my humble opinion...the rapture could happen at any time and we could be OUTTA here...yeeeee haw.

Good observation, Diana....many people miss it and think that the last days spoken of in scripture has to do with US...but you are right on the money.

A couple of places that might mention the last days for the church are:  2 Thess 2:3 and 2 Tim 3.

I guess what I noticed is that Paul never mentions events that will take place in the last days.  Such as the earthquakes, wars, etc.  I don't find that as I find it being spoken to Israel as part of the signs of then end times.  Smiley

Exactamundo Diana!
Lu gave a couple of good Scriptures where Paul speaks of the last days, but the reason he doesn't dwell on it in his writings is because we won't be hangin' around to see what happens.

"Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord."-1 Thessalonians 4:17

I would agree with your statement from the position of living in America but there has always been a shortage of food some where in the World. The greatest problem with America is that we have always been a Nation of Plenty. So when these things happen in America the first thing we think is that the end most be near. Just something to think about.

As you know, Romans thru Philemon was written to us for this present time, but the Bible tells us we will profit from reading all the scriptures.  I believe one of the ways we will profit is seeing what will happen to Israel during the Tribulation.  Food being limited and costing more is only a little bit of an indicator. The larger picture would be that America will fall and the Roman Empire will be revived.  Are they looking for peace agreements in Israel today?  Are they saying peace and safety?  Is there a 7 yr agreement that needs to be confirmed?  Are Iran, Russia, Lybia, Turkey lining up to do war with Israel? Are people getting much more hateful?  Are people getting more blinded to the gospel?  Are the Jewish people getting more open to Jesus being the Messiah? The answers to all these questions are yes.  I think we are getting close to the rapture.

I couldn't agree more, Lu.  The "birth pangs" are getting stronger.

"And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.  For many shall come in my name saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.  And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.  All these are beginning of sorrows.-Matthew 24:4-8

Keep in mind, gals and guys, that these signs relate to the end of time for the Nation ISRAEL, and not for we who are the church the Body of Christ. Think of how much closer we are to the RAPTURE, which has to happen BEFORE God continues His dealings with Israel.....food for thot here.

Rapture...then the GREAT TRIBULATION begins for ISRAEL, which is their last course of curses they signed up for with God in Leviticus. Anyone wanting a chart showing the five courses of curses and where the four have already occurred, and how the fifth course is scheduled for a future event with the "revelation of the MYSTERY" interupting the events, please email me and I will mail one to you. Fascinating study.

Hi Christine,

I agree that these warnings are directed to Israel, but aren't these signs obvious to the whole world as we get closer?  We have these events increasing in intensity and happening now.

ybiC,

We have no "signs"...remember? wink   The just shall walk by FAITH and not by sight.

We are told that the world, and the people IN it, will wax worse and worse. OUR hope is the promise that WE, the church which is His Body, are NOT appointed unto wrath. The WRATH that is coming will be directed towards ISRAEL as they have seven years remaining on their agreement with Him which involved five courses of curses. Those who have not taken advantage of Gods GRACE offer in this present dispensation, will enter into Israels LAST course of curses and the GREAT TRIBULATION.

We are to be looking for the great appearing of Our Lord and Savior in the AIR...where we shall ever be with Him.

Keep in mind that "signs" were given to UNBELIEVING ISRAEL...they are part of THEIR program with God.

We won't even be around to see all the SIGNS that these verses are referring to. We will be GONE, outta here, taken away, beamed up and long gone.

Glad to see you feeling better and ready to "continue the good fight", kab.

Well, I think what I'm meaning to say is that all the circumstances we have read about that are going to happen in the Tribulation are lining up now and that is why it seems we are in the season to be looking for the appearing of our Lord and Saviour.

Lu, that's what my brain was thinking and my mouth couldn't say.  I was working in the garden a bit ago thinking about this.

Christine, you didn't know this is your day to put up with me did ya?  LOL

I'm with Lu.  I know we live by faith, not sight and that the rumblings in Matthew refer to the tribulation, but to add to what Lu said, it feels almost like a "foreshadowing" of what is to come for the Nation of Israel...and then we're expressed outa here before the real damage starts.

Ya mean what I know? Huh

AAAAAmen....if we can see the foreshadows of what will happen to Israel, then how much CLOSER is our "homegoing?"

Yeee haw...my bags are PACKED , fella...I can assure you of THAT!
