Unanswered Prayer: It's Cause and Cure

I have no doubt that each of as as believers; those who have put our faith and trust in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary, have prayed to God our Father about something that was pressing in our spirits and weighing heavily on our minds. We pour out our heart, maybe even unto tears for God to move and to do something on our behalf. Whether it was some financial crisis, or for some type of physical healing, or for God to give us a spouse or even for a wayward spouse or son or daughter to come to the Lord, we have all prayed to God, earnestly desiring Him to answer. We sincerely read verses such as: Mt 21:22, "And ALL things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye SHALL receive", and John 14:14, "If ye shall ask ANYTHING in my name, I WILL do it".

We, with every ounce of our heart truly believe these verses of scripture spoken by our Lord, but yet, to our dismay, it never seems to come out the way that that prayer promise says it was supposed to! We can try to make excuses for the Lord...like "He REALLY did not mean it that way", or "Maybe I just did not have enough FAITH". But deep down, in the quietness and stillness of our souls, as we lay in bed thinking before God Himself, we KNOW that we were REALLY believing the verses. So why did they not work? Why did my prayer to God go unanswered, and how do I get God to answer my prayer?

Well praise the Lord Jesus Christ, He has not left us out in the cold on this issue. God does love us and He does hear all of our prayers to Him. But the key to getting all of our prayers answered by God is to ask them according to HIS Will! The will of God the Father in time past (and in the ages to come) with the Nation of Israel, is different than His Will for us today in His present Dispensation of Grace. We, as His people, the Church, the Body of Christ, have a different program, operation, and administration from God than what He did with Israel. Those things that differ includes prayer! The prayer promises of God to Israel do NOT apply to us today. That is why those prayers go unanswered, and not becuase God does not love you or care about your request. To understand prayer, and any other topic of scripture, you must "rightly divide" God's Word of truth as you study it (2 Tim 2:15).

When you do so, you will find that all of God's prayer promises to you as a believer are found in your God given Apostle Paul's 13 letters Romans thru Philemon. It is in Paul's letters alone that God says "yea" and "amen" to your prayers (2 Cor 1:20). God, in every dispensation only answers prayer that are according to His own will (James 4:3, 1 John 3:22, 5:14). So to, you, when you as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ's Body today, ask anything of God, that is according to "the Mystery of His Will" (Eph 1:9-10) in the letters of your Apostle Paul (Romans-Philemon), God will do "exceeding abundantly above all that we ask, or even think" according to the Word of His grace (Eph 3:20).

He will also "keep your heart and mind though Christ Jesus" when you pray and pour out your heart unto Him according to His Will as revealed thru our Apostle Paul (Phil 4:6-9). So instead of getting "unanswered prayer" from the Father, why don't you humble your heart and mind to His truth for today, and find out all the prayer promises that He delights in answering as listed in Paul's letters. Take a pen and paper and study every prayer that Paul himself prayed and then you will see how you ought to pray to God as well:-)!

We all need to have a better understanding of what to pray and why...
