Scripture:

Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is DEATH: but the gift of God is eternal LIFE in Christ Jesus our Lord."

According to this verse can you answer the questions below?

1. What is the wages of sin?

Death

2. What is the gift of God?

Eternal Life

3. Where is eternal LIFE to be found?

In Christ Jesus our Lord

4. Does this verse say anything about the wages of sin being "out of fellowship", or the gift of God being "in fellowship?"

No

5. If we say that the wages of sin is being "out of fellowship", what are we calling God in regard to what HE SAID is the wages of sin?

a liar

6. What do we deserve each time we sin?

Punishment

7. Who took our punishment?

Jesus Christ

8. How much of it?

All of it

9. How much is left for you and me?

None

10. Will we ever be punished for our sins as believers?

No. Jesus took our punishment for us

11. What is the only reason that we will not receive punishment from God for our sins?

Because Jesus took the punishment FOR us

The Bible is very clear. The wages of sin is DEATH and the gift of God is eternal life. It is black and white with no in between.

Somewhere, however, the issue has been clouded throught the concept of being "in and out of fellowship". Instead of the wages of sin being death, it is now seen as being "out of fellowship". Instead of the gift of God being eternal life, it is now seen as being "in fellowship". This has watered down the gospel and has robbed literally thousands of christians the ability to experience the Life that Jesus promised.

Are you IN or OUT? Will you get your answer by what you "feel", or by what God says in His Word?

...that when we sin we lose fellowship with God?

"Traditions of MEN, perhaps?"  "Churchianity?"  "Religious parrotting?"

All of the above...the wages of sin is NOT loss of fellowship with God; It is DEATH! Either Jesus paid the penalty in full, or He didn't....which is it?

Do you see that much of what we are taught and accept so readily , really has NO basis in FACT in the scriptures? Shocked Undecided Could this be what Christ meant when He said, You will know the truth and the truth will make you FREE?

I cannot tell you how many people actually REALLY DO BELIEVE that if they sin they have broken fellowship with God. I only know that its an astounding number.

How can God break fellowship with Himself? How can that be when He lives IN YOU, and has made you a NEW CREATION IN Christ Jesus?  Does he step OUT until you make things right? This is a serious error in thinking that has paralyzed many a well meaning believer today.

I was in error in this not too long ago...and coming out of the RCC...it sometimes is called the Catholic Undertow...which keeps coming back to plague us with loosing our peace.

I will try to find the article and post it later...that finally put this to rest for me.  It showed me Biblically the final, total truth of the matter.  :-)
